Although I haven’t blogged on here in a while (not that anyone would notice), I’ve gained a renewed interest in my Tumblelog which I’ve had for a while and admittedly got bored of.
You can find it here, there’s also a link on my Contact page and basically it’s a “compressed” version of the things I typically blog about, but in an easy to read and equally easy to create short-form. I just made a couple of posts about brand new webgame The Curfew, which I finished playing about an hour ago. It was marvellous and I will most definitely be playing it again, especially when it comes out of Beta so I can check for new features!
Obviously I will still be posting here. However, there will be no post schedule, and I won’t get all apologetic about the inevitably large gaps between the posts when I do make them. Just… watch this space. And stuff.
I don’t really want to write anything lengthy about this, just a fun little video about a bike ride I went on with Kirsty yesterday to Colwick Country Park (via everywhere)… because if you didn’t know, I like cycling and stuff:
And there you have it, I’m truly sorry you couldn’t be there. Maybe next Bike Ball…
Never forget who you are… unless you’ve been pulled over by the police

Ever since the days when I used to make The Sims 2 machinima music videos that actually got quite a few views (but I deleted them all and even the channel they used to be on) I have always had fun messing around with YouTube.
To cut a long story short, I’ve found myself in the process of making YouTube videos again on my relatively new channel and this is my second new video… a camera test. But it is a pretty one, shot on my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I even played around with editing, too: (on Windows Movie Maker because I have nothing else)
Yeah, I know. It’s marvellous. Aaaanyway… that’s pretty much it for this post.
Always remember; it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission – John XXXO
Brought to you by my Nokia XpressMusic 5800, these are the first overall pictures from the final year show one-week exhibition, “Great Thoughts; An Exhibition of Exquisite Taste” shown at ncn City campus a few weeks ago. Mine’s the first one, a graphic design/illustration/conceptual art thingy of a mock-up toy show demo booth complete with “product samples”, decorative illustrations (filled with hidden meanings) and accompanying research book/essay/toy catalogue about how toys can affect children in later life, and how best to make those effects as damaging as possible!
There were more, but I never got around to photographing everything (although there are a few more I have pictures of). I loved everyone’s work, literally couldn’t find one piece I didn’t like. And some of them were actually quite inspirational!
Always demand more than you actually want, then “compromise” – John XXXO
After much discussion with my statistics tracker thingy, we reached the conclusion that nobody does or ever did regularly follow this blog (with the strong implication that nobody ever will, either). However, on the off-chance that you’re reading this and you’ve decided to start, I’m just going to throw some updates out there:
My final-year-show post is on its way (no seriously, it’s a draft and everything) but it’s a sweet dreambeautiful nightmare to format and I’m slowly working on it.
I’m still in my slightly obnoxious and probably unimpressive creative mood, and am still getting inspired/coming up with things/experimenting with software, so you can expect plenty more stuff made by me in the near future. For now.
I still hate professional football, and the World Cup, specifically the England team’s performance throughout the tournament, has only managed to validate my reasoning. I originally elaborated on this but ended up writing so much it became hard to read, so… I’ll just leave it at that.
You don’t care, but my next post might not be for a few days. Try to contain yourself until then and I’ll do the best I can.
I meant to post this the other day but I thought it’d be best to leave it for a while, then just never got around to it… until now.
Yes, this is another huge graphic… but I often prefer to do things like this in actual paper sizes in case I actually want to print them. Anyway, there it is; some experimental pictures I took a while back, and yet another quote I quite liked. I’m thinking about getting a quote tattoo at some point but that’s for another time…
Always make sure the killer’s dead before you go – John XXXO
A quote I came across recently, along with a little picture I made to go with it. Since I don’t have a printer or fridge magnets, I decided I’d just stick it here. And Tumblr.
… when you’re wasting hours upon hours waiting for examiners to come and talk to me about my end of year show (long story) and they never do. (Warning: huge A4 graphic hiding behind the preview image)
Obviously since it was just an experiment I don’t really have any specific purpose for it, but I just thought it looked kind of nice, and that maybe I could take it a little further i.e: work it into a design theme for the blog or something.
Feedback is always appreciated, but I’m still going to be able to sleep at night if you don’t comment so… it’s cool.
It’s not a party until something gets broken – John XXXO
Despite the fact my limited experience in managing/designing actual-live-on-the-Internet-server-based web sites has been holding me back all this time, I’ve decided to go ahead with my blog anyway (and hopefully the web stuff shall follow in due course) as I don’t think it will be a major setback.
There should be a new post coming very soon as my FdA Multimedia Final Year Show at New College Nottingham is coming to an end and I can’t wait to compress it all into a blog post for the whole Internet to see. However, this time round I’m going to be wise enough not to try to make any promises for the future, as I have learned several times over blogging often doesn’t work out the way it does when you first start playing with the software…
